Clement Musicale: After the Ending

Act 1
Scene 1:

*Choir sings “Awesome God”*
Instructor: Very good, we should have no problems in the competition. Everyone is dismissed!
*People clamber down from stairs and leave the classroom*
Luke: Thank Heavens that’s done! Sam, why did you even sign us up for this? It’s not like it was required of us to sing praises to the Lord in this choir, it was completely OPTIONAL!
*Trips and the skies rumble with thunder*
Luke: Sorry…
James: I hate to rain on your parade Sam, but really, this is tiring.
Sam: Ugh… You guys, so typical of you…
James & Luke: So typical of us to what?
Sam: To avoid working hard and blaming it all on me.
Luke: James started it!
James: I did no such thing!
Sam: Now get on your feet and chase me!
James: What for?
Luke: Yeah, what for?
Sam: Okay, fine, stay there, if you don’t want your bags back. Come by the house later! Movie Night remember?
*Runs off stage*
James: Samantha
Luke: Agatha
James: Maria
Luke: Andrea
James: Narcissa
Luke: Thea
James: HANNA!
Luke: ALCAZAR!
Luke & James: Come back here!
James: She’s changed a lot, remember the time when she was new here and she did nothing but cry?
Luke: Yeah, now she’s so full of energy…*Dreamy*
James: *Begins running after Sam*
Luke: Where are you going?
James: Well, Mr. Santos, unless you want to lose your bag, I suggest you follow me
Luke: Oh yeah… right!

*Bells tolling; Gregorian Chant Benedictions*
Sam: Heavenly Father, I just don’t know what to say… I guess… Thank you, for all the friends you’ve given me… *smile*
Superior: *Walks from side of stage and sees sam* Fancy seeing you here, Sam…
Sam: Oh, good day ma’am. *Creates a lot of noise and is distraught upon standing up*
Superior: Do away with the courtesy, call me Fatima.
Sam: Oh… okay… What brings you here to this humble servant of God?
Fatima: I would ask the same of you Sam.
Sam: *Shifts on her seat* Well… if you must know… I guess I’m just thanking God for the blessings… I haven’t had a good time as this since… well, since I came here I guess…
Fatima: Ohh… That’s good. He’s such a wonderful person isn’t he?
Sam: Who? Luke?
Fatima: Well, you could say that, but I was referring to God, Yahweh, the Heavenly Father… I guess the best name for endearment would be “Dad”. You seem to be thinking on something, Sam.
Sam: I dunno… *sighs and shifts on her seat again* I guess it’s because I want to make the world a better place. It’s just that there are all these boundaries that seem to be around, one of them, funding.
Fatima: Let me tell you something, Sam… The orphanage hasn’t fared this well since the time you came, all because you had the courage to continue helping even in times of trouble. Boundaries? No, there are no such things, all because you’re free to do the right things, it’s something a friend of mine said some time ago.
*Free-Hillsong*
Sam: *Turns to leave (pause [2 secs or as deemed appropriate]) Looks back* Hey. Thanks, Fatima, I never knew you were this kind. In fact, my first impression of you was that you were this irritable old lady. Well, I must get going, I don’t want to be late for our “Movie Night”
Fatima: *Makes a face* Oh… Well, thanks, I guess. *Flips hair* Bye…
Sam: *leaves stage*
Fatima: Such a kind lass… Hmm… which reminds me, I’m late for my date! *Flips hair again and walks out of the scene*

Scene 3
<Sam’s House>
Sam: Mom! I’m home!
Mother: Oh thank goodness Sam! Do you know what time it is? You better prepare for that “Movie Night” of yours, and I for one want to see that cute boy James again.
Sam: Mom!
Josh: *Comes in from side of stage* Ate, may I join you?
Sam: Sorry Josh, Movie Night is for me and my friends only, why don’t you and Mom have a “Movie Night” of your own?
Josh: Aww… Okay… I understand…
Mother: Come here Josh, we’ll have an U.B.E. later.
Josh: U.B.E.?
Mother: Ultimate--Bonding--Experience!
Josh: ohh…
Mother: Which reminds me, Sam, why are you so late?
Sam: Oh, I had a nice conversation with a friend while I was at the chapel.
Mother: Oh, how nice. You better get on with your preparations, I’m also expecting to see that devilish Luke of yours.
Sam: MOM!

Scene 4:
James: *Rings doorbell* Oh get over here Luke!
Luke: Wait just a darn minute! I’m still finishing this Ice Cream
James: *Rolls eyes* Why are you eating? Sam said we’ll be eating dinner.
Luke: I just wanted to be safe, just in case… you know, Sam cooked the meal.
James: What’s with Sam’s cooking?
Luke: Oh don’t tell me you haven’t tasted it yet? It was terrible!
James: *Unsettled, eyes are shifty* Maaaybe… I don’t know… I don’t rememmmberrrr… YES! God, that was awful…
Luke: Oh you better shut your trap now, someone’s coming.
Mother: *Opens door* Oh hello boys! Sam’s waiting for you!
*Dinner commences and finishes*
Luke: That was strangely very satisfying! *Nudges James with elbow and whispers* Good thing it wasn’t Sam that cooked the meal!
Sam: What was that Luke?
Luke: N-nothing love… *Big toothy grin*
Sam: Well, I have my eye on you, loverboy…
James: *rolls eyes in disdain* Well, let’s watch the movie, shall we?

Scene 5
*Movie ends*
James: What can I say? That was a beautiful movie! *tears in eyes*
Luke: Beautiful eh? All I saw was a romance movie…
James: Yeah, beautiful… So heart-warming you know?
Luke: *Cough-ish way of saying* Gay
James: Am not!
Luke: *Taunting* Gaaay.
James: Shut up! Just because you’re insensitive, doesn’t mean you could attack me for my reaction on a movie…
Luke: Being defensive just makes it wooorseee… GAY.
James: Ugh! This is hopeless.
Sam: May I jump in?
James: Sure, go ahead… It’s as if it would make any difference.
Sam: Hmm… Luke, I thought we already talked about this? We don’t have to be immature…
Luke: Well, it’s your “Friend” over there that insulted me, NOT to mention the fact that he called me hopeless. *Sulks like a child*
James: *shouting* Well, excuse me! You’re the one who started it. Doesn’t mean that if a person likes a romance movie, he’s gay. It just means he’s SENSITIVE
Luke: What did you say?
James: I said, at least I’m SENSITIVE, unlike some other people.
Luke: So now, you’re not just gay, you’re a hypocrite too.
Sam: Stop it Luke! James! Are you really going to fight over some movie?!
Luke: Stay out of this woman!
James: *Pushes Luke* I am NO hypocrite. Just because you’re frustrated that we’re your only friends doesn’t give you license to take your anger all out on us!
Luke: *Eyes widen, voice softens* When did we get on the subject of my frustrations? *Begins shouting again* D*mn it James! STOP! *Throws a punch*
Sam: *Gets in the way and is hit on the shoulder* Stop it Luke! You don’t have to be so physical! I really thought we already talked about this. *Slaps Luke*
Luke: That’s it! I’m outta here!
Sam: And you! I thought you were better than this! *Slaps James* That’s for not stopping when I told you to.
James: I’m sorry, I just got carried away. You of all people should know the depth of my sensitivity.
Sam: Well, I guess so… But that doesn’t mean you should have done that! Apologize to him, that should extract an apology FROM him too.
James: *Laughs*
Sam: What? Why are you laughing?
James: Because I never knew you had such a sense of humor.
Sam: Huh? I was dead serious.
James: Oh… If that’s what you expect to happen… Goodluck with that. Not in this lifetime.
Sam: *slaps James again* That IS it! I have had enough of you! I’m outta here! *leaves*
James: Errm..
Sam: *returns* This is my house!
James: Ugh!

Act 2
Scene 6
(At School, the Next Day. Sam, Luke and James walking side by side. The two are on opposite sides of Sam and are not talking to each other. Characters in scene: SAM, LUKE, JAMES and ANNE w/ POSSE)

*The three are walking by. They are silent, Sam seems to be disconcerted*
Sam: C’mon guys, break it up!
Luke: I’m sorry? I never knew we had a hypocrite in our group.
James: Hmm? Sam? You said something?
Sam: Ugh! This is hopeless. *Looks skyward* Why don’t you just apologize to each other?
Luke: I would not! Who knows, that guy might secretly be fantasizing about me.
Sam: What are you getting at Luke? We already talked about this!
James: Don’t mind him Sam; what you say about other people reflects who you are.
Sam: But… Luke! *Grabs shoulders* Where is the Luke I came to know and love? The kind, funny, and supportive Luke? Is this what your other group is showing you?
Luke: ... *Unflustered. Pushes Sam away*

*Sexy music. Entrance of other characters*

Friend no. 1: Lukeey!
Friend no. 2: James?
*Grabs arms*
Friend nos. 1 and 2: Anne… Lookie at Sam, she looks… Haggard!
Anne: Gee, sisterette, what happened to you?
Friend 1: Whathappenedtoyou!
Sam: Goodness, Sis, you do NOT know the half of it.
Anne: Why? Is it something James did?
Friend 2: Somethingjamesdid!
Sam: Hmm… No… Luke is also at fault.
Anne: GASP! No… Lukey-boy wouldn’t do such a thing…
Friend 1: Nonosuchthing!
Sam: Uhh… You bet he could. He’s not the same person I came to know.
Anne: Tsk
Friend no. 1: Tsk
Friend no. 2: Tsk…
Luke: Anne. Don’t get involved!
Anne: Is this what the basketball team is teaching you?
Friend 2: Basketballteamdoingtoyou!
Friend no. 1: Oh my God! I better dump Frank, he’s in the basketball team. James! Call me later, I’m available!
James: *rolls eyes* *Cough* Plert.
Sam: *whispers* yeah, such a PLERT
Luke: Stop it Anne, don’t tell me you’re siding with these losers.
Sam: I thought you were my boyfriend. That’s it! We’re over! This was the last straw, you may insult me, but when you trifle with my friends… *cries then runs off stage*
Anne: Hmph! *slaps Luke* one!
Friend no. 1: *slap* two!
Friend no. 2: *slap* three!
Friend no. 1 & 2: Congratulations!
James: *Follows Sam to comfort her*
Luke: D*mn it!
Anne: *turns to leave but stays behind at the last moment* girls, would you mind giving us some privacy?

Scene 7
(Corridor, Characters: SAM and JAMES)
Sam: I’m alone… What happened to the friendship that we had long ago?
James: Sam, times change, things change, people change… the only permanent thing is change.
Sam: You’re right… But I just can’t get over the fact that it’s over… On the other hand, this scene gives me a feeling of de-ja-vu.
James: Yeah, the time when you were new here… well, enough of that. Sam, you know, you’re the bravest person I know.
Sam: Me? Brave? I don’t think so…
James: Yeah. Even in these kinds of times… you’ve been able to help people… you’ve not let tragedy come in your way? Remember those times?
Sam: Yeah… I guess…

Scene 8
(Flashbacks)
Mother: *crying while at her desk*
Sam: Mom…? What happened?
Mother: No… Sam, you shouldn’t bother about me, you have your own problem with Luke to worry about.
Sam: No, mom, I would feel better knowing I’ve helped.
Mother: O-okay… It’s just… the fountain at work malfunctioned when I used it so it looked like I went in my pants. But… I didn’t. Everyone is jeering at me at work and my boss threatened to fire me if things don’t work out.
Sam: Mom, you shouldn’t worry about that. If what they say isn’t true, you should not be affected. Don’t let them get to you, things happen, this was an accident. Try to explain things, I’m sure everything will get better.
Mother: Thanks Sam… Even if you yourself are down, you managed to bring a smile to my face. Thanks… By the way. I’m sure things will work out between you and that devilishly handsome Luke of yours.
Sam: Thanks mom…
(Change of scene. Now in Fatima’s office)
Fatima: *Face is buried in hands*
Sam: *Knocks and enters the office* Ma’am. I’m back with some help, it’s 200 pesos and some noodles. It’s all I can give now.
Fatima: *rubs her eyes*Oh Samantha… Thanks… Don’t worry, even this small donation will help.
Sam: Ma’am, you seem as though you have some problems.
Fatima: Well… Sam, they’re closing the orphanage. We don’t have enough funds to support the little ones. I spent my entire life, working for this charity, but I don’t think it can pull through.
Sam: What?! But they can’t do that… who exactly is this “they” anyway?
Fatima: The board of trustees. They decided that we can’t afford the orphanage anymore.
Sam: B-but where will the children go…?
Fatima: Into the custody of the government.
Sam: Heavens!
Fatima: I know… It’s as if there are all these hurdles to overcome, obstacles to push aside… Not to mention the boundaries that bind us…
Sam: Boundaries? There are no such things… All because we’re free to do the right things. Don’t worry ma’am. I’ll see to it.
Fatima: What will you do?
Sam: We’ll see… We’ll see… *sigh*
Fatima: Sam… what’s that look on your face? You seem forlorn…
Sam: Oh… this? *points to face and grins* It’s nothing…
Fatima: Well… whatever it is, Sam, I know the Lord is looking after you.

Scene 9
(End of flashback)
Sam: Whoa that was some flashback…
James: You see… You’re the strongest person I know...
Sam: I guess… But, there were still times that… you know…
James: Never mind those times, they were mistakes, misunderstandings. You should let go…
Sam: hmm… You’re right… Thanks James.
James: You’re welcome, you always are, and you know that Sam. I haven’t met someone whose love for the needy, for your family, for your friends and for God is as sweet as yours… It’s like you’re the much needed sugar on the French toast.
Sam: Weird analogy, but thanks. And I have yet to meet someone whose abilities in comforting people are like yours. You’re like a warm blanket on a cold night…
*Singing*
James: Para kang asukal, singtamis mong magmahal
James: If I say this, would you react just like before?
Sam: Say what?
James: I love you… Sam…
Sam: No… I don’t want our friendship to be ruined by that… But you should understand… I still have feelings for Luke, I hope you can accept that…
James: Sure… I just needed to get that out of my system…
Sam: Thanks for everything James
James: Always welcome, I guess I should thank you too…
Sam: You’re welcome too… You managed to lift my spirits up somehow… If you don’t mind… There’s something I want to do…
James: bye…
Sam: *leaves stage*
James: *sigh* Sam…

Scene 10
(Sitting in one corner: ANNE and LUKE)
Anne: *seductive tone* Lukey-boy… now that we’re alone would you mind… doing me a favor?
Luke: W-what?
Anne: TELL ME WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!
Luke: U-uhm… is this a side of you that almost no one sees?
Anne: Don’t change the subject. What happened?
Luke: Well, it all began with our “Movie Night”, the three of us. And I teased James of being gay because he liked the movie.
Anne: Well what WAS the movie about?
Luke: Some romantic thing…
Anne: GASP! Why did you do that?
Luke: It just looked so…gay…
Anne: Stop it!
Luke: Well, I was just teasing and somehow, James took offense.
Anne: How many times have you teased him in the past few weeks? Ever since you and Sam started going out?
Luke: Almost every day…
Anne: Maybe he was fed up with you.
Luke: Oh I don’t know. Don’t tell me that you’re siding with them!
Anne: I’m not. And wipe that grin off your face, I’m not siding with you either. What happened to the Luke I used to know?
Luke: I guess being with Sam gave me this boost of confidence. I became able to do things I never knew I was able to. And I guess insult my closest friends was one of those things…
Anne: You should be ashamed! The Luke I knew was sweet, kind, HUMBLE.
Luke: I’m sorry… I just… I…
Anne: You shouldn’t say sorry to me…
Luke: I know… I just felt obliged…
Anne: *sigh* I missed your company. You’re the only guy that was real kind to me back then… My fondest memory was when you took me to the beach… and I remember the song we sang back then…
*Song: Summer Song-Silent Sanctuary by Anne. Or some other person*
Luke: Anne… You know I still have feelings for Sam… But thanks anyway. I really appreciate the company…
Anne: I understand… but you made a mistake. You better go apologize to her…
Luke: I know… hey, I have to go… I want to do something…
Anne: Okay… bye…
Luke: Bye, thanks for bringing the smile to my face…
Anne: It was nothing
Luke: *leaves stage*
Anne: Luke…

Act 3
Scene 11
(Walking in corridor. Characters: SAM and LUKE, Sitting somewhere, Characters: ANNE and JAMES, All singing)
*Prayer for a friend*
Luke:   Lord, I lift my friend to You, I've done all that I know to do
I lift my friend to You.
Anne:  Complicated circumstances have clouded his view
Lord, I lift my friend up to You.
Sam:    I fear that I won't have the words that he needs to hear
I pray for Your wisdom, oh God, and a heart that's sincere
Lord, I lift my friend up to You.
James: Lord, I lift my friend to You
My best friend in the world, I know he means much more to You
I want so much to help him, but this is something he has to do
And Lord, I lift my friend up to You.
Anne and Sam:
'cause there's a way that seems so right to him
But You know where that leads
He's becoming a puppet of the world, too blind to see the strings
Lord, I lift my friend up to You
My friend up to You.
James and Luke:
Lord, I lift my friend to You, I've done all that I know to do
I lift my friend to You
(Sam and Luke meet)
Sam: Luke!
Luke: Sam! I-I don’t know what to say…
Sam: You don’t have to know…
Luke: Sam… I’m sorry…
Sam: You don’t have to apologize to me Luke, you’ve been forgiven for this girl.
Luke: So does that mean we’re together again?
Sam: No, Luke, I’ve thought about it… we’re just not meant to be…
Luke: Ohh… *sighs* I-I just dunno what to say… you’re my best friend… And… because of you, my eyes have been opened to the things I can do…
Sam: Maybe that’s my purpose in your life. To be just a friend, and to have shown you your potential…
Luke: I guess so…
Sam: You’re forgetting something Luke…
Luke: What?
Sam: You shouldn’t be apologizing to me… There’s someone else waiting for your apology…
Luke: I know… I know… I just don’t know how to do it.
Sam: Trust me, you’ll know when the time comes…

Scene 12
Luke: Ma’am… I have someone to apologize to in class and I prepared this speech… would you mind?
Teacher: Oh, sure, go ahead. Later in English class, after the discussion.
Luke: Thanks ma’am.
Teacher: It was no problem
(Class starts)
Teacher: Okay class, since the Academic year is almost over…
Class: Hurrah!
Teacher: We will have a 45-item long test again. Those who will be called, must answer the question, those who are not to be called will get a perfect score. Remember, it’s worth 45 items!
James: *whispers* Does this ring a bell?
Sam: Yeah… my first day, and I run out of class bawling like a kid…
Teacher: Well, let’s begin. This latin statement.

Neque porro quisquam est, qui dolorem ipsum quia dolor sit amet, consectetur, adipisci velit, sed quia non numquam eius modi tempora incidunt ut labore et dolore magnam aliquam quaerat voluptatem

means

Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure.

In English. What are your views on it? Ms. Emmanuella M. Oreadas
E.M.O: I think it says… pain is not bad…lt’s good, because it brings pleasure… now may I go to the CR, I need to inflict pain on myself so that I will have pleasure… *raises larger cutter than before*
Teacher: No you may not! And I still CANNOT get over why your name spells EMO. Next up, Ms. Happy N. Sunshine!
Happy: Well… Given that today is such a wonderful day to live and love which has nothing to do with the topic. I can say that… *FLASHES HUGE SMILE* No matter what happens, happiness is always the result!
Teacher: Makes sense? No. Is overly optimistic? Yes. Is disturbing? YES. As before, go see a counselor. Next up, Warren Peace. Mr. Friendly.
Warren: Thank you ma’am. Well… I can say that if we work hard through pain with our friends. We will be happy in the end because our friends were with us all the way! Wanna be friends? Anyone?
Teacher: I applaud you, Mr. Peace, but not quite the answer I was looking for… Ms. Anne Billiones
Anne: Well, I can safely say that paying other people to work hard for you gives pleasure because you not only get your work done, you also get pleasure from watching their pain! *Throws wad of cash in the air*
Friend 1: Pain!
Friend 2: Othersworkforyou!
Friend 1 and 2: Absolutely right!
Teacher: Heavens! Do you have to do that EVERY time?  Next is Mr. Gee Kako. I realize now… your name can also be said this way. Mr. Geek Ako.
Gee Kako: Actually ma’am. I cannot see the logic in this statement. Based on my calculations, the parabolic representation of the given statement will not make sense in any of the ten possible dimensions plus the dimension for time. I also calculated the conversion of p—
Teacher: That is enough Mr. Gee Kako
Gee Kako: I’m not done! The conversion of pain into pleasure by my calculations, the hyperbola of which makes it a very inefficient conversion so—
Teacher: MR. KAKO THAT IS ENOUGH. Next is Mr. James Zephyr.
James: I firmly believe that the statement tells us that people do not seek pain because it is pain in itself but because of the fruit it brings. It also implies that we will not do anything if not for the mental, physical, emotional, social or spiritual gain it will bring.
Teacher: Best answer yet! Next is Samantha Agatha Maria Andrea Narcissa Thea Hanna Alcazar
Sam: Would you mind just calling me Sam? And for me, the statement means. Everything happens for a reason. Everything we do is for a reason, and that the choices we make are because of something in the past and that the things in the future are the effects of the choices we make.
Teacher: Very well said! Almost better than Mr. James Zephyr’s.
James: *nudges sam* Good going girl!
Sam: Thanks! Now listen.
Teacher: I believe two people from our class have something to say. First, is Mr. Luke Santos.
Luke: Thanks ma’am. I will deliver a speech. *pulls out a paper, lets it go to reveal a very long essay. Flips a page of the long essay.*

Friends, family, teachers, citizens of the Philippine democracy, denizens of this class’ empire, Hear me! Hear me!

Said the mighty king to the people everywhere, Listen to what I say. Acknowledge your mistakes people everywhere. Listen to what I say. Apologize, apologize to the people you’ve wronged. Do not make the problem much worse.

*murmuring in background while James is talking to Sam*
Blah, blah… blah blah blah… blah blah… blah…
James: Who helped him with his speech?
Sam: Me! Isn’t it a great speech?
James: No…
Sam: Oh… I HAVE NO IDEA who helped him.
James: I see *gets up* Luke, stop.
Luke: James!
James: You’re an idiot, Luke.
Luke: James…
James: Don’t talk! I’m not done yet. You’re an idiot. The biggest ignoramus I’ve ever known. But you’re my friend.
Luke: I don’t know what to say.
James: Well, if the next thing you’re going to say is “said the little lamb to the shepherd boy, do you hear what I hear?” then I suggest you not say anything at all.
Luke: I-I’m sorry.
James: I’m sorry too, for two things actually, one, I flared up against you. And two, you had Sam do your speech for you…
Luke: *laughs*
James: *Grabs Luke and ruffles hair*
Teacher: Okay… weird… Next, I believe Samantha has something to announce.
Sam: First of all, I would like to congratulate these two morons, they have managed to GROW UP. We’ve known each other for a year. But things change and the tide has turned against our further companionship. I’m transferring to a prestigious school in Biñan, because that’s where my mom’s company is transferring to.

Scene 13:
(After classes)
James: Sam!
Luke: When were you planning on telling us?
Sam: Are you deaf? I told you just a while ago! In Ms. Carmela’s class.
James: But Sam… Why didn’t you tell us earlier?
Sam: Because I knew just what your reaction would be! Then I wouldn’t have spent the rest of my days in this school with happiness.
Luke: Well, you managed to catch our attention.
James: *laughs*
Luke: Why are you laughing?
James: I just realized, this might be another pathetic attempt by Sam at a practical joke.
Luke: Ohh… You’re right!
Sam: What are you talking about? I was dead serious. Tomorrow is the last day of class right? I leave after tomorrow. You better not miss my departure party and departure tomorrow.

Scene 14:
(The next day)
Sam: Luke! I have to go already. Just give this to James okay? *hands a letter to Luke*
Mother: *offstage* Samantha Agatha Maria Andrea Narcissa Thea Hanna Alcazar! We’re running late! The moving truck has moved already!
Sam: I’m coming mom!
Mother: Be quick!
Sam: Be safe, Luke.
Luke: Sam, you too…
Sam: I’ll miss you…
Luke: Sam… James didn’t come on purpose, he asked me to tell you “Bittersweet Endings” and last night in the party. James asked me to give you this. *hands her a letter*
Sam: Bittersweet endings? That was James’ favorite quote. It went this way. “Because bittersweet endings just make me want to break down and cry…”
Luke: Ohh… Will we see you again?
Sam: Sure… Someday, somehow, God-willing.
Luke: Bye. May God bless your trip.

Scene 15:
(a few days later)
Luke: Hey James!
James: Yes?
Luke: Ever since you got that letter from Sam, you’ve had that goofy look on your face. What did it say?
James: You guess. It was only three words long.
Luke: I hate you?
James: No!
Luke: Start a diet?
James: What?
Luke: I am Lesbian?
James: Okay, now you’re just guessing.
Luke: Don’t tell Luke about this or the next time we meet I’ll kill you?
James: Now what part of three words long did you not understand… But yeah, that was on the inside of the envelope.
Luke: Come on, just tell me!
James: Okay… here goes. “I love you”
Luke: Ohh, cool! Well, I have a date with Anne, see you later.
Anne: Come on Luke!
James: What? No posse Anne?
Anne: Nah, I told them they should be themselves
James: Wow!
Anne: Well, you’ll rarely see me like this, but goodbye for now!
James: Sure
Anne: *passes by James and whispers* I know what Sam’s letter has inside. She showed it to me before she left. Goodluck!

Scene 16:
Mother: Sam! Just put your things in your room!
Sam: Yes mom! *sees the letter* That reminds me, I haven’t read James’ letter yet. *reads aloud*
Umm… Hi, Sam… Sorry I couldn’t get to your departure.
I just can’t bear seeing you leave.
*starts blending with James’ voice*
You know, you’re the best friend I’ve had
You’re the pillar I lean on, in times of trouble…
*James’ voice*
You know… I love you…
Don’t worry, we’ll see each other soon…
Dad’s going to get transferred to the same region, and I’m going to be studying in the same school soon
That’s it for now Sam.
I know you’re reading this, imagining that It’s my voice saying it to you. Now say the next part with me.
*In unison*
I hate goodbyes… Because bittersweet endings just make me want to break down and cry…

I’ll miss you, for now, but guess what, Fate has made it so that our paths cross again.
That’s it for now.
Love,
James
